Here at Rehabs UK, we understand that addiction not only affects the individual involved but also the loved ones that support them. With cocaine addiction on the rise, the growing popularity of laughing gas (Nos) use in teenagers and deaths relating to alcohol abuse increasing every year we knew we had to take action.

Rehabs UK has over 30 years of experience and have supported thousands of people and their families into recovery. We understand the process of addiction recovery and wanted to provide a safe space where family members can gain insight and feel supported by someone who truly understands. Many rehabilitation facilities focus purely on the individual suffering from the addiction however, we believe in recovery for all the family and that is why we created a weekly online family support group.

Online family talk is facilitated by our Head Therapist Jakana and takes place via Zoom making it accessible to anyone regardless of their location. Jakana has a wealth of experience working with families who have been affected by addiction and has previously worked as a therapist in residential rehabilitation facilities.

The aim of each weekly session is to help further any knowledge on addiction that you may have and provide a space where questions can be asked on anything that you may not understand. Participation from the group is encouraged and we kindly request that anyone who joins the group switches their camera on when joining. We understand that some people may feel anxious about joining and may not feel up to speaking initially and this is more than acceptable but we do ask that cameras are turned on in respect for the rest of the group.

Please be aware that family talk was designed to provide general support to those that are supporting a loved one with addiction, this is not a forum for students who are looking to learn more on this subject. We are unable to discuss individual clients specifically during this time or comment on the right type of treatment plan for your loved one however, our fully trained Treatment Advisors can help and you can contact them for a free assessment.

Supporting a loved one with an addiction can be extremely challenging and you may feel that you need a higher level of support to process how you are feeling and that's why we also offer online therapy and face to face therapy for family members too.

Still unsure about joining? Don’t just take our word…

There has been a topic every week that has been helpful. Hearing other families talking about their concerns and loved ones has also brought things up that I hadn’t thought of.” - Evonne

Although in recovery myself and sober, the years of trying to deal with a loved one in active addiction/alcoholism have been nothing short of soul destroying. It’s so very hard to know what the “right “or “wrong” thing to do or say is and then how to live with those decisions.” - Debbie
